Individual funding

A request for assistance may be submitted by the person or entity in need of the funds (the “grantee”), or a person who is close to a potential grantee, for example, a friend, family member, co-worker, acquaintance, or a parent whose child is benefited by the special needs education initiative. All potential grantees must go through a strict vetting process to verify their circumstances and financial need. Once potential grantees are identified, Bosnian Heart anticipates conducting a fundraiser to raise funds to assist the grantee with preapproved medical expenses, quality of life enhancements or other special needs expenses and, in the process, will also raise awareness of the grantee’s cause so that other individuals and entities with similar struggles may benefit from each campaign. Grantees will be selected through a rigorous selection process where proof of supporting evidence will be required:

  • Thorough explanation of cause and why assistance is needed.
  • List of items for which initiative needs funding and cost of each item.
  • Financial statements.
  • Site visit or phone call with potential grantee and its founders/staff.

Funding charity organizations

Bosnian Hearts provided funds to organizations that the Board establishes funding agreement with.

Such organizations must have the same mission and purpose as Bosnian Heart.

In the past, Bosnian Heart has funded organization “Dobri Ljudi Udruzenje” in Bosnia and Herzegovina affiliated with TV Hayat Sarajevo, program “Ispuni mi zelju”.

In future, we may establish cooperation and agreements with similar organizations here or in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the discretion of the Board of directors we may at times, choose to contribute to other organizations who share a similar mission and only if the contributions further our exempt status, with the objective to assist various population groups and/or individuals cope with poverty or emergency life situations.
